Evaluating the framework of risk governance under the requirements of the principles of Basel governance: An applied investigation for a sample of Iraqi Banks

The goal of this study is to evaluate the risk governance framework in a sample of Iraqi local banks against the standards of Basel Governance Committee in order to identify bank departments commitment and direct their interest in implementing this framework for governance. The research adopted an inductive investigative approach to analyze the risk governance framework in Iraqi banks to find out the extent of commitment to implementing the risk governance framework in light of the requirements of the principles of the Basel Committee on Governance. In addition to adopting a deductive approach in the practical aspect, with the help of descriptive analysis to study the financial statements and reports of the field inspection committees of Iraqi banks to measure the level of compliance (or non-compliance) with the requirements of the risk governance framework. The research reached the most important conclusions
