Abstract

Рurpose.Сomparison of the results of determining the stage of liver fibrosis by indirect elastometry and using the APRI test in patients with hepatitis B and C

Materials and methods. To determine the stage of liver fibrosis, 102 patients with hepatitis B and C were simultaneously examined by indirect elastometry, determined on the FibroScan apparatus, and using the APRI test.

Results. Compliance with the stages of fibrosis, determined by the method of indirect elastometry and using the APRI test, was found in 87 patients, i.e. in 86% of all examined by two methods.

Conclusions. The combination of various methods for diagnosing liver fibrosis, in particular the APRI test and indirect elastometry, can increase the sensitivity and specificity of determining the stage of fibrosis in patients with hepatitis B and C.
