Abstract

This study examines the modernization of Uzbekistan's financial market, focusing on key gaps in securities trading and the role of investment intermediaries. Despite recent reforms, issues remain in market stability and foreign investment attraction. Addressing this, the research analyzes transaction volumes and sectoral performance on the "Tashkent" Republican Stock Exchange during the first half of 2024, combining quantitative data analysis and a literature review. Results show increased banking sector transactions but a decline in overall trading volume. The study emphasizes the need for further reforms, incorporating international best practices to enhance market development and support Uzbekistan's economic growth.
