Abstract

Flower business in Nagaland has received impetus since 2004-05, under the active support of Horticulture Mission for North-Eastern and Himalayan states (HMNEH), under the Ministry of Agriculture, GOI, helping the growers, who for the love of flowers can now meet their daily expenditures and other needs through this venture. The present study was done on primary data collected from 100 flower businessmen by following a multi-stage stratified random sampling using a standardized questionnaire. Statistical charts, averages, percentages and a 3-point likert scale were used to analyze the data collected. The flower industry in Nagaland, being a fresh industry, is facing many problems and challenges. Thus, efforts have been made to study the extent of flower business, employment opportunities, income generation, and problems and challenges that are faced by the floriculture industry in Nagaland.
