On the Processes in the Spiritual Life of Uzbekistan in the 40s and 50s of the Twentieth Century

The Soviet totalitarian regime was characterised by total control over all aspects of society and their subordination to a single ideology. This process marked a difficult path in the development of the arts in Uzbekistan, which was part of the USSR. Particularly the Party's decisions after the Second World War were a great obstacle to the strengthening of ideological control over the arts and their free development on the basis of their own laws.
