Benefits of Selflessness: A Primer

Selflessness is having no concern for oneself with regard to reward, position, fame, money, etc. It is acting without thinking about how we will profit or benefit. It is to have a great love for others. Selflessness is character trait that takes intentional effort to develop. It can be learned and incorporated into our daily living. Making selfless choices in our close relationships leads to deeper connections and greater happiness for everyone.
Selflessness entails giving up one’s interests in order to serve others. To perform selfless service, one must act without any desire for a reward or recognition. This paper introduces the reader to the benefits of selflessness.
