The article considers occasional nouns created by A.P. Chekhov and used in letters. The goal is to establish the value of occasional substances in the text of letters, to identify their text-forming role. It has been established that occasional nouns often serve as organizing centers in the text of letters, conveying the main idea and linking all other components of the letter.
